With Easter coming up, I wanted to share an impressive but surprisingly easy DIY: homemade marshmallows, gussied up for the holiday using a little food coloring and mini animal cookie cutters. We’ve been eating these springy treats on their own and as toppers for coconut-coated cupcakes. The full homemade Easter marshmallows tutorial is up this week at Hellobee.
Last year my Easter contribution for Hellobee was a post on how to make naturally dyed Easter eggs. We’ll probably pass on them this year, since Zane isn’t old enough to appreciate the science project-like fulfillment of such a craft, but it’s definitely on my radar for the future because the results are stunning. If you’re interested, click over to Hellobee for the instructions.
I’m hesitant to share my homemade Easter basket treats article because I’m already a little bored with all the Easter candies showing up in my Pinterest feed. Candy is alright, but I don’t crave it often. But, some of the ideas in the post are fun and a little different than everything else I’ve seen, so I want you to have the chance to take a look.
…Like homemade spun sugar, dyed green to create edible Easter grass: This little project was so much easier than I anticipated and the results are unique.
…Or juicy strawberries made to look like carrots with a crunchy orange sugar coating.
